Programme:

Concerts by two jazz groups Collaborative Jazz Septet (led by Donatas Petreikis and Karolis Šarkus) and Rahel Talts Trio.

Rahel Talts Trio is an international group of jazz musicians. Together they perform the original work of the Estonian pianist and composer Rahel Talts. Born and raised in Estonia, the artist studied in Copenhagen and currently lives and works in Vilnius. The band's music can be described as energetic, acoustic, melodic jazz with influences from old traditional jazz, bebop and swing. Although the sound of modern jazz could be heard in Rahel's work earlier, this program focuses on post-bop and old school jazz, which will be enriched by the artist's individual and modern sound.

Rahel Talts (EE) – piano
Hilda Nordkvist (SE) – double bass
Andreas Svendsen (DK) – drums

Collaborative Jazz Septet concert.

This is the only jazz septet in Lithuania, authentically performing original music inspired by the bebop and hardbop eras. One of the best ways to improve as a musician or discover new musical genres is to collaborate with fellow musicians or artists from other genres. And the more quality collaborations, the better! Of course, many artists understand and actively use this creative concept, but the most important thing is not to forget its importance and artistic significance in everyday life. This was also understood by good friends, performers, multi-instrumentalists, composers and arrangers Donatas Petreikis and Karolis Šarkus - they have known each other for many years, during which they listened to and discussed a lot of music together, discussed the topics of saxophonists, and shared the music they create. Often it remained in the confines of the studio and did not go public. in 2020 both artists have accumulated sufficient knowledge of music, joined forces and, out of love for the jazz tradition, the debut album of "Collaborative Jazz Septet" has reached the light of day! After a two-year hiatus, the group presented the second album "That Groove", the release of which was marked not only by presentation concerts, but also by a live video clip recording session, and in 2023. The latest work of the composers "Man Of Culture" saw the light of day.

Mindaugas Vadoklis – trumpet
Karolis Šarkus – saxophone viola
Donatas Petreikis – saxophone tenor
Jievaras Jasinskis – trombone
Tuomas Korhonen – piano
Mariusz Praśniewski – double bass
Augustas Baronas – drums
We will donate half of the collected funds for the tickets sold to the support fund of VšĮ Mėlyna ir geltona.
